Saint Judy's Comet: Brian Briscoe

Saint Judy's Comet: Brian Briscoe is an illustration of one of the characters from my short story, Saint Judy's Comet based on an original concept by Chris Brayshaw.

In this scene, Brian in his "well" aboard the Orlando. Each of the passengers is isolated from the others physically by the "wells" but are linked through the computer network that Brian is responsible for. The alien artifact they were sent to investigate has just begun to invade the Orlando's systems.

Brian was posed in Poser and then brought into RayDream Studio where the rest of the scene was assembled. The final image was then touched up in Corel PhotoPaint.

This illustration was then reworked to become the cover for the fall-winter 2000 edition of On Spec. Below is the cover version without the accompanying type. The cover was redone in Carrara as multiple passes then assembled and touched-up in Corel PhotoPaint.
