For the short story, Body
Solar, by Derryl Murphy in On Spec.
In the story Simon Helbrecht
goes on a vacation of a lifetime: he becomes part of a huge gossamer solar sail.
Naked to the stars except for a life-sustaining algae colony, a tiny waste
refinery and a force-field generator, he sails out through the solar system.
Below is the sketch from which
the final illustration was made with the suggested change in viewpoint.
My preference is still for the original viewpoint which I feel imparts
a greater sense of majesty.
