After having already prepared to paint a different cover for issue 5 of E-scape, I had another idea for a composite image based on a famous image, Zenya (for the story by the same name by E.C. Tubb), by Frank Kelly Freas, one of the greatest SF illustrators ever. The original idea featured a moon, a feminine symbol, and was meant to be symbolic of fantastic travels. The final result, due to my source images, turned out to be more sinister.
