Now What?

Now What? is one of my favourite paintings and this small image does not do it justice. The title is meant to refer both to the young abducted maiden—this being her first dragon abduction—and the young dragon—this being its first maiden abduction. These are two ingenues acting out an ages long tradition without understanding why or what to do next.

This painting is acrylic on illustration board. To my delight and disappointment I am constantly getting the comment "Great rocks! How did you do it?" The rocks were done by roughly painting a background colour, then with the early painting in the bathtub, I splattered on several other darker colours and wiped them off when they were partially dry. Then on top I added the rock face highlights, cracks and charred plants.
