For the short story by Micheal Skeet in On Spec.

This story featured an encounter between a british RAF SE-5 biplane and a UFO. The author was exact with his description of the plane and it's details even to the point of supplying some visual references. I added to them with my own research. The next hardest part was to get the plane in an exciting position but with proper perspective. After painstakingly drawing out the vanishing points, I found out much later with a 3D modeling program that I had essentially got it right by hand.

The image was scanned in and tones were added with Corel PhotoPaint in much the same technique I would use later for Alien Rites and Wrongs.
